donk and company only lost five rounds in two maps to shut down MOUZ's hopes of a final run in their debut.
Spirit are the first team to advance to the PGL Astana grand final off the back of their complete shutdown of MOUZ in the semi-finals.
Before the game, Danil "donk" Kryshkovets made his feelings known about MOUZ 's odds. "No chance," he told James "BanKs" Banks when questioned about Justinas "jL" Lekavicius 's words that, should Dorian "xertioN" Berman keep up his level, MOUZ would get away with the win.
And he couldn't have been more right, although xertioN was far from his 1.40-rated tournament form up to that point, as he finally disappeared in the new MOUZ 's biggest test yet.
But so did the rest of the team around the newly-minted in-game leader. Spirit ran circles around MOUZ on the T-side of Dust2 as the B bombsite proved an open runway for the Russian side, with Lotan "Spinx" Giladi sitting on a 2-11 scoreline by the end of the half as the Mid player.
And after coming out on top of Dust2 13-3, Spirit picked up where they left off with an indomitable defense on Nuke.
That began with a Boris "magixx" Vorobiev Zeus kill in a shutdown of MOUZ 's quick upper bombsite hit, an ominous sign of things to come as Spirit went on to secure 10 on the CT side and a quick closing right after.
Spirit now move on to the best-of-five final off the back of their dominant win likely feeling like the favorites regardless of whether they'll face off against Falcons , who have been shaky in their debut with Finn "karrigan" Andersen , or the magic side with no experience.
Meanwhile, MOUZ 's road is not quite over yet despite the fact that their title hopes are, as they are still to play the third-place decider against the loser of the second semi-final.
