GamerLegion are into their first notable grand final since the BLAST.tv Paris Major after they beat Legacy at IEM Atlanta.
Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski is no stranger to grand finals in this city, more than nine years since his Virtus.pro side lost to Astralis at the ELEAGUE Major, and will get a chance to right that wrong tomorrow night.
A crowd favorite in the States, the legendary Pole's strong T side calling (8-4 Ancient, 7-0 Inferno) defined the series as GamerLegion confirmed their place in the final of the $1,000,000 event.
"Snax brings a lot of experience and calmness," Fredrik "REZ" Sterner told the desk post-game, as he also took time to praise his teammates for breaking the quarter-final glass ceiling that plagued the team in 2025:
"Going deep into events, PR and hypex get more time on stage, that's really important against good tier one teams," he said. "Everyone is able to control emotions more now, we're more disciplined than before when we choked. We have composure now, and know what to do in the crucial moments."
While Legacy , and quarter-final opponent paiN , may be below the usual level of Big Event playoff opponents, you cannot take anything away from a well-drilled GamerLegion side that was ready for anything on map pick Ancient and the decider of Inferno.
Legacy had won all seven series they played since adding Alan "adrrr" Riveros as their temporary coach, including against NAVI in groups, which makes this result even more impressive for the German organization.
Eduardo "dumau" Wolkmer , speaking to Martin "STYKO" Styk , pointed to a loss of momentum on Inferno, where Legacy kept force buying as they lost grip of their CT side: "On Inferno, it's always chaos, it's about IQ and adrenaline. Some bad decisions can affect the team. The economy, when you lose momentum, makes it worse."
GamerLegion , meanwhile, can now look forward to a grand final against one of BetBoom or Natus Vincere , as their young core gear up for a career-first moment.
