Gentle Mates will play at Stake Ranked Episode 3 with Joey "CRUC1AL" Steusel as a stand-in, HLTV has learned.
The 29-year-old will fill the empty spot on the French organization's roster following Antonio "MartinezSa" Martinez 's departure for HEROIC on July 7.
CRUC1AL has been without a team since parting ways with Nemesis at the start of the year, and has recorded just two officials on HLTV in the last six months after briefly standing in for illwill in CCT Europe Series 4.
The BLAST.tv Paris Major quarter-finalist's last LAN appearance dates back to November at XZONE Masters Season 1, and his return to offline competition with Gentle Mates will come against Wildcard at Stake Ranked on Wednesday.
Gentle Mates are also set to compete in the online stage of BLAST Bounty Season 2, which runs from July 21-26, but have yet to confirm their roster for the event, HLTV understands. The organization is also in the midst of negotiating its exit from Counter-Strike, with Heretics , KOI , and GiantX suggested as possible destinations for the roster by Sebastien "KRL" Perez before MartinezSa 's sale to HEROIC .
